A Gift

He taught me how to play under the rain after I hated it.
He made me believe in love again after I failed.
He held me close to his heart, after I wasted myself.
He accepted the whole me, he did fix me.
He promised to love me, even after knowing my bitter past.

He makes me laugh everytime I am mad.
He always tells me I can, when I tend to give up.
He carries me when I’m in pain.
He kisses those wounds despite the fact that they’re ugly.
Stretchmarks are ugly, and stitches too.

He continues to give and show love.
Doing his best to be a father and my man.
Each one of us has someone they can call their own.
Own love, own partner who’ll be there through better or worst.
Lucky to have such kind of person, yes it is.

When you found it,
Therefore, take good care of such gift,
Though sometimes we don’t really deserve it,
But they deserve it.

Unkept heart of mine

Life began when love struck the heart,
Life ended when both fell apart.
Never been fall out of love,
But stupid mistakes ended all that both once had.

~Quetzal

A song for broken hearts: Heart of mine

Son

I was lying in the operating room,
Quite nervous of the operation,
Saving you was my priority,
Then your cry came out, my felicity.

Pitiful that body was quite tiny,
Fragile you were yet lovely,
You in my arms was paradise, loving you so much oh dear mine..
I was awake for a week watching you peacefully asleep.

Now day by day I watch you grow,
Everyday my life has a glow,
Sooner or later you’ll be a grown up,
Today I wish you grow fast, and tomorrow will wish you still be a child.

Inscribed feelings

Every words I inscribed, are the feelings engraved in my heart.
My beatitude, mourning,  pains, and hope when things fall apart.
Maybe a scene from today or of my past.
Sometimes, these words are the figment of my imagination,
And someone’s unseen situation.

~Quetzal

Break up

Crush all the way to the core of my heart,
You’ve been so good before, now a lot has changed,
You and I, once part of each other, now fallin’ apart,
Crumbled to eensy-weensy pieces like grain.

We are like;
rainbows fading colors in the air,
masks in a masquerade people used to wear,
ice creams that melt away,
a road that has two paths that breaks way,
white room full of shadows of strangers,
birds flyin’ across the sky with fallin’ feathers.

Painful to see that these hearts go on separate ways,
What else to hold on when night took over the days,
Is there a way we can fix things right?
Lets fight together against this destiny’s blight!

~Quetzal

You

A glimpse of you, fire starts in my lonely heart,
Admiring your comeliness across the sky,
Oh! Those pretty eyes, give a skip in my heart.

Your countenance is so pleasant to the eye,
Touch on skin to skin, a sun kiss of summer,
Living with my blest heart exalt and fly high.

I want to be in your arms forever dear,
Be in love, you and I ’til eternity,
Putting God at the center, and fruit to bear.

A dream of mine, where you and I quite a match,
With you my fate and I viscidly attach.

Affliction

Walk the aisle of afflictive past,
You and I was once together,
Where one’s trust put… died,
Walk the aisle of afflictive past,
Deceived was I, you lied,
Finked thee, befriended with her,
Walk the aisle of afflictive past,
You and I was once together.

Yester night

Gloomy Moonlight

Yester night I was quite down in sorrow,
this pandemic creeped back in my head,
broken I was, eyes on my son,
he was peacefully asleep,
I almost cried lookin’
asked God, until when?
don’t let it be,
half the world
dying
more.
Death
horror
everywhere,
shattered broken
the soul, heart, and mind
crumbled to eensy bits
a test, conundrum today
prayer is all I have, trust Him
asked him, to you God this is easy
end this pandemic, to you all I beg.

Song

Sing your heart out.

Behind every song you sing,

There’s a memory worth remembering.

Lyrics of the song speak the content of the heart,

Wallows in that memory of love.

A song may bring a smile on your face

Or chafed tears on your visage.

A song may mean lots of thing,

Or it is someone you’ve been missing.

Lufu

Sunny when it all began

Ended with drops of rainy season

For one true love this undying admiration

This lufu of I to thee

Forever it will be.

Quetzal

*lufu-love (archaic)

First Love Left

I still remember when you left me here all alone

I didn’t even able to ask if, what I have done wrong

As I heard that you went back home

But even you were far away from me

I was hoping that you were in good hand, silly me..

Whenever I was watching the full moon

I was searching for my true love

But this couldn’t comfort me

Because ’til now, I was hoping for thee

Someday we will meet each other again, I’ll wait ’til then.

~Quetzal

Humans’ words

I may have sinned and a lot to count,

but it is not for you humans to judge.

My life was not created for you to condemn or mold it the way you want.

We are the same inhabitants of the earth,

most of the time we forget and we act like we know everything.

Words were spoken and claimed these were from heaven,

yet with human nether instincts and quite biased.

~Quetzal

Knight

You’re the knight that holds the light

Only with you I soar such height

Guiding my heart from iniquity

When this heart is with you, it finds its placidity

My susceptible heart indites

You’re the one my dream invites

You’re the cure to my pain

And the only thing I want to obtain.

Quetzal

Burned Treasures

Feeling horrible, knowing my mom burned all my compositions back home. She knew nothing how important those writings were.

I have wrote a thousand love and pain

Inspiration lives and dies like rain

When you know nothing of their worth

Burned to ashes you did; my treasures in fold.

Sailors

Lucky are the sailors,

They see the beauty across the oceans and shores.

See how the sun walks on the blue sky,

Even the way the stars dance way up high.

They touch the water’s life,

Taking by silver waves as they paddle the time

They believe and have great faith,

Facing unseen danger brought by fate

Sailing in a vast multitude drops,

Is one of this heart’s wishes to take its life locks.
